Namaste and welcome to the website of the Leela Kathak Dancers. This site intends to give updated and accurate information regarding meetings, activities, and performances to the dancers, their families, and others interested.

Kathak

Kathak is characterized by intricate footwork and distinct facial expressions, accompanied by tabla (drum), singers, and other instruments. Kathak, meaning "story," is performed either solo or in a group, and is presented either as classical dance or as dance drama, which depicts episodes from Indian epics.
