Kathak is characterized by intricate footwork and distinct facial expressions, accompanied by tabla (drum), singers, and other instruments. "Katha", meaning "story," is performed either solo or in a group, and is presented either as classical dance or as dance drama, which depicts episodes from Indian epics.
